“I am Bongo Tony of North Gully and King Street. I attended North Gully Basic School at the age of five, not many individuals living in Montego Bay have any knowledge of the Gully School. I also have a scar on my forehead that I received from falling from the school board wall and hitting my head on the concrete floor of that school. I will al- ways cherish the memory of Miss Dent who was the Principal who used to take me on a regular visit to the Adventist Church in the com- munity, sometimes church meetings would be held at my grand- mother’s house, there I learned the skill to make patchwork from scraps, small pieces of cloth which were available for that purpose.” (p.5)
