These six songs were written by poets of the court of His Imperial Majesty Q’edamawi Haile Selassie and were chanted by students from various schools in Addis Ababa for HIM 52nd birthday in 1944
.
The songs were published in a book written by Murad Kamil and published by “Franz Steiner Verlag GmbH” in the year 1951 under the name “Amharische Kaiserlieder”.
Murad Kamil worked in the ministry of culture in Addis Ababa and was present for the birthday celebrations of His Imperial Majesty in the years 1944 & 1945.
 
These songs were translated directly from Amharic to English by Hermano Simeon.
